Since 1808, The Grand was the city hall of Amsterdam. The Council Chamber was renovated in 1924 as the room in which the city council sat. Nowadays, the Council Chamber is listed as a historical monument. The Council Chamber is notable for its special decorations and painted, engraved and carved wooden panels.
In this wonderful setting our former Queen, Princess Beatrix, got married in 1966.
