To illustrate, you can choose to welcome your guests in the intimate St. Cecilia chamber, overlooking the impressive courtyard were your guests will arrive. Our Meeting planners are more than happy to advise you on other options to make a Grand entrance. You could, for instance, arrive by boat and walk straight from the pier into the impressive courtyard.

Depending on the number of guests you wish to invite, the wedding ceremony takes place in the Marriage Chamber or in the Council Chamber. The impressive and romantic Marriage Chamber, adorned by colourful fresco's, is located on the first floor of the monumental wing of The Grand.

Following the ceremony, you and your guests can gather for a festive toast. The Grand offers several venues to choose from; for example, experience this special moment at the private balcony of the Marriage Chamber, overlooking the inner garden. Or choose for the intimate St. Cecilia Chamber, adjacent to the beautiful Council Chamber, overlooking the impressive courtyard. During the reception, there will be a moment to cut the wedding cake that is especially designed for you.

After the reception, there are several options that our Meeting planners are happy to advise you on. To illustrate, you can choose to sail through the beautiful canals of Amsterdam or start preparing yourself for dinner. Indulge an intimate dinner with your best friends and family in the Burgomaster Chamber or the Aldermans Chamber.

From 1808 until 1988, The Grand functioned as the City Hall of Amsterdam were all marriages officially had to take place. One of the most memorable marriages in the history of The Grand is the wedding ceremony of the former Queen of The Netherlands, Princess Beatrix, in the legendary Council Chamber in 1966.
